Climate Change Theater Action in Samos
Thankful and proud to have shown “No More Harveys – The Whale’s Song” by award-winning playwright, Chantal Bilodeau at the Ancient Theater of Samos on August 29th and 30th. The play was presented in the framework of All of Greece One Culture 2023 programme, of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture.
No More Harveys presents a world in flux, dominated by colonial and patriarchal forces, where women emerge not as victims but as survivors. It shows how flawed our fossil fueled economic and political systems are, and how the many problems that plague our communities stem from the same roots.
An educational workshop for children was organized as a side event at the Municipal center of the island to raise awareness about the effects of marine litter and ghost fishing nets to the marine environment. The impressive backdrop for the play was created using fishing nets provided by Diopas S.A.
The event coincided with the August blue moon as beautifully captured in the cover photo. Original music was composed for the Greek version of “No More Harveys” and performed on stage establishing a beautiful dialogue with the protagonist.
